‘Evergreen’, a green contribution of considerable size

While working on the design and execution of the brand new ‘Evergreen’ offices & workshop we had one goal in mind: to develop a green and sustainable building that would herald a new era for Vorsselmans, an era in which we take the lead when it comes to our company culture and façade construction.

The entire building is a celebration of sustainability: aluminium external cladding, circular building materials, solar panels, an electric fleet, the use of green walls to capture C02 and an automatic ventilation system with interactive vertical sliding windows. We also applied advanced HVAC technology and heating by geothermal heat pumps.

Vorsselmans Café

On the second floor you can find the cafeteria, which is in fact a multifunctional space. The ‘Vorsselmans Café‘ is also located here. There are 10 vertical sliding windows that will open by pressing one simple button. This creates a strong connection between the inside and outside. These unique sliding windows were developed with Reynaers.

Green facades

The 200m2 of green walls are also a notable feature of this project. This was a collaboration with Ecoworks, and one of the biggest green wall projects in the Benelux. The construction behind the green walls is made of repurposed window and façade profiles. We also teamed up with a beekeeper to create a local bee population.

The project is already affecting employer branding. The visibility and green character of the building, in particular, attract many spontaneous applicants.
