Pool Street West
Pool Street West, along with Marshgate, is a part of UCL East, a new world-class UCL campus in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The first building of the new campus, due to open in 2022, will embody innovation and inclusivity. Researchers, students, local communities and businesses will collaborate on local and global challenges and develop solutions that will build a fairer and more sustainable world.
State-of-the-art facilities
Laboratories, teaching and research rooms will be placed alongside common and open spaces where people can meet each other to collaborate and socialise. The laboratories will provide students and academics with the latest tools to conduct chemical, archaeological or mechanical experiments.
A building for the community
Designed to encourage the creation of innovative academic programming, Pool Street West will provide space for events and activities open to the general public. The performances, exhibitions, workshops and public lectures held there will contribute to a vibrant and creative learning atmosphere and will open the doors of UCL in entirely new ways.
Rooms with a view
The new accommodation will be among the best in London.
The two towers on either side of the stage, rising above a landscaped roof terrace, will accommodate more than 500 students. The accommodation is designed as multiple clusters of bedrooms that share a kitchen and living area. Each cluster will have a common area with views in three directions over the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
